Daytona Beach

Because Matt started a new job this year, he was unable to join us in Daytona. So the girls and I decided to join Grandpa and Grandma at their condo for a few days. We mostly played at the beach. Overall it was pretty relaxing.

One afternoon we went to a restaurant for lunch. The outside deck had a very win die tree. In it, there was a very mischievous, fat squirrel. You could tell this squirrel was fell fed by fellow patrons, and Ella was excited to test it out with a french fry.

You can see they even made him a little sign. This squirrel was a wanted thief.

We also were able to tour the Ponce de Leon lighthouse.

we decided to make the steep climb, but Grandma was too scared, and decided to head down. I was able to snap a picture of her chicken like escape. hehehe

The view from the top was a little scary.

We were able to recover at the beach.

Bathroom Remodel-

The summer began with a few home repairs. What started as a floor tile repair job, quickly became a total remodel in our hall bath. Between cracked tile, a warped vanity, and 5 layers of wall paper this old room needed a bit of a face lift. When we took down the mirror, the many layers of old wallpaper were revealed. So, we decided to take a break from the work and have a little fun.

Ella First Day of Kindergarten

I can't believe that summer is officially over, and my sweet baby is starting Kindergarten. The time could not have passed so quickly? We have been talking about Kindergarten for almost a year now, and I know she is excited to finally be going. Ella is so brave and seems to be ready to venture out on her own. She is excited to ride the bus and go to "big" school.

Her friends at the bus stop are our neighbors Katie and Elaina. Elaina is in Ella's class.

Daddy plans on walking her to the bus every morning.

Here comes the bus, bright and early.

and there she goes; our sweet, big girl.

We were not sad to see her make this big step, but more excited for her. I am sadden by the fact that she is already in Kindergarten, but I know it is her first step into the real world. My prayers for Ella are:

1. That she is kind and loving towards everyone.

2. That learning will be exciting for her.

3. That God will protect her as we send her out.

4. That although she is in the world, she will keep her innocence for a long time.

We love you Ella.
