The Sixth Day

On Friday, the girls and I were on our own. We spent the day playing at the pool and at the beach while Matt went on deep sea fishing trip. Matt has been coming to Florida to fish since he was big enough to hold a fishing pole. He never misses a chance to catch big fish.

Once they got back to the docks, we met up with him to see what they caught.

Matt caught this huge 19lb Mahi Mahi.

On the Fifth Day

We have been having a lot of fun at the beach and hanging out with our friends Zach and Corrie. Just a few random moments to help capture the fun times.

Who put the last piece in? We may never know.

Gotta have a self portrait every where we go.

On the Fourth Day

Today we did not spend a lot of time at the beach. Our friends were very sunburned, so we decided to make a day of shopping. We thought we would go check out downtown Ft. Walton. We walked around a few antique stores and took some photos of the girls playing in a park.

On the Third Day

This morning we thought we would take the girls out to the pier. We walked far out to watch the fisherman hard at play. It is such a trip looking down at the ocean so far off shore. You might think I am weird, but any time I am far out, I am always looking for sharks. Maybe it is because I have never seen a shark in real life (outside of an aquarium). I am sorry to report, I have still not seen one.

After visiting the pier, we spent the rest of the day at the beach.

This is proof that I was actually there. Aaaahhh, relaxation

Wren was not having that much fun. I guess the sand and bright sun were too much for her. So, we decided to feed her oreos to keep her happy. Some of you may already know this about me, but I am very strict on the quantity and quality of food my kids eat. I don't let them have very many sweets. So, you know I must have been desperate if I was willing to let Wren have oreo after oreo. I didn't hear any complaints from her.

I lost count on how many she actually ate.

On the Second Day

It is Monday here at the beach and we already in the routine of playing hard. We hit the beach again bright and early. Today we decided to try and fly our new octopus kite. We had a little trouble at first, but with Matt's hard work and a little breeze from God, the Octopus was able to fulfill its destiny. Ella loved this.

After nap time we headed down to Destin Commons to meet up with my step sister and her son Ethan. I have not seen them in at least five years. It was good to reconnect, and the kids loved playing in the water. I hope we don't go another five years before we see them again.

On the First Day

Our first official day at the beach was so much fun. The girls woke us up bright and early. We slathered on sunscreen, grabbed the beach toys, and headed down to play. Ella and Lowen had the best time playing. They shoveled, mounded and dumped sand all day long.

The gulf is not known for its waves, but I guess when you are three and one, the littlest wave makes for great fun.

After lunch and naps, we headed down to a near by marina for shopping and family photos. This is really the first time we have gotten good photos taken. I am so blessed to have this beautiful family.
